You’ll have good prospects of being offered a permanent role with us after successfully completing your training. We have apprenticeship places in IT roles and offer a chef’s apprenticeship. Our training package includes an above-average training salary, a laptop for mobile learning and working as well as additional training and personal development. A motivated training team is on hand for feedback and questions. Throughout Helaba, we practise a first-name culture, and you’ll regularly have opportunities to network at events organised by the Young Talents Network. The apprenticeship programme is also open to people who do not wish to continue their studies
Currently studying or about to graduate
Are you in the middle of your degree or about to graduate?
During your placement, you’ll apply the knowledge you’ve gained at university directly to our projects. You’ll work alongside colleagues from various departments and get to know the bank from the inside. This will help you find out whether our work is right for you. Interested?

You’ll spend two to three months on an internship in one of our specialist departments; for selected opportunities, five to six months are also possible. Placements start at the beginning of each month. We require a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with good academic results. This will allow you to get to know the bank, discover initial career opportunities and gain hands-on experience. Your salary will be €1,500 per month for placements lasting up to three months or for compulsory placements; otherwise, we pay the minimum wage. There’s an added bonus: a laptop for working remotely during your placement.
Trainee
Have you successfully completed your degree and are you ready for the next step? As a trainee, you’ll get to know various areas of our bank and take on responsibility right from the start. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you’ll collaborate on exciting projects, expand your specialist knowledge and lay the foundations for a successful start to your career with us.
Here’s what you can look forward to
For 18 months, you’ll be part of various specialist departments and will also gain insights into a subsidiary of the Helaba Group. We’ll arrange your start date flexibly. The requirement is a good to very good university degree, ideally relevant to the respective trainee programme. During the programme, you’ll gain practical experience, take on responsibility early on and get to know the bank in all its diversity. You’ll be supported by a mentoring team, receive regular feedback and benefit from a comprehensive range of further training opportunities. Your remuneration will be based on the collective agreement for public sector banks (TG 7) (as a Bachelor’s graduate in the 9th year of employment / as a Master’s graduate in the 11th year of employment), supplemented by 13 months’ salary and a variable remuneration component.
