If your profile matches the requirements, we will invite you to take our online aptitude test.

The test helps us to gain a better understanding of your skills and potential. If your aptitude test and the feedback from the department are favourable, we will invite you to a face-to-face interview.

The first online interview lasts around 60 minutes and takes place online with HR and the relevant department. During this, you’ll gain even more insight into the apprenticeship and day-to-day life at our company; we’ll find out more about you, your motivation and your expectations of the apprenticeship at Helaba.

If, following the first interview, we are still confident in each other, we will invite you to an in-person meeting at our offices. During this, you will meet other trainees and get a feel for what your future day-to-day working life at Helaba might look like.

If both parties are happy with the terms, you’ll receive our contract offer by email within a few days. 

Once you’ve signed it, we look forward to welcoming you to our team soon.

To ensure you get off to a good start at Helaba, you’ll begin the first two weeks alongside the other trainees with our Welcome Days. There, you’ll get to know the company, your fellow trainees and key contacts. You’ll also be given your technical equipment, introduced to key IT systems and programmes, and thus lay the foundations for a successful start with us.

Through the YoungTalents Community, you can quickly make new contacts, share experiences and build up an internal network.

If your profile matches the advertised role, we’ll invite you to an interview. It lasts around 60 minutes and is usually conducted online. During the interview, you’ll get to know us and we’ll find out more about you, your motivation and your expectations.

Of course, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to ask questions at any time – after all, you should be able to find out whether we’re a good fit for you.

If it suits both parties, you’ll receive our contract offer by email within a few days. Once you’ve signed it, we look forward to welcoming you to our team soon.

On your first day of the work placement, your department will welcome you and you’ll get to know your team.

At the ‘New Joiner Day’, you’ll be given your technical equipment and everything you need to get started. Your department will present you with your Welcome Box. And, of course, you’ll get to know your new colleagues.

As soon as we have received your application, you will receive a confirmation. Our recruitment team will carefully review your application and contact you if any information or documents are missing. 

If your profile matches our trainee programme, we will invite you by telephone or email to an initial digital meeting with HR.

During a digital interview lasting around 30 minutes, you’ll have the chance to ask any initial questions about the trainee programme and Helaba, whilst we’ll learn more about you, your background and your motivation. If we’re both satisfied, we’ll forward your application to the relevant department.

Following the initial interview, the relevant department will review your profile and assess whether you meet the requirements of the trainee programme.

If the department also gives the go-ahead, we’ll invite you to our on-site ‘Get in Touch’ session. Over the course of around three hours, you can expect a further interview, a role-play exercise and discussions with HR and the department. This will give us the chance to get to know you even better, both professionally and personally, and to find out together whether we’re a good fit.

If both parties are in agreement, you will receive our contract offer by post within a few days. You should then return the signed original contract to us by post.

We want to make your start as easy as possible and ensure that you quickly settle into your role and find your feet within the team. To help with this, our New Joiner Day is organised for you on your very first day. What’s more, the YoungTalents Community offers you the chance to make contacts quickly and become part of our network.

The selection process consists of two interviews. The first interview usually takes place via Microsoft Teams, whilst the second is held in person at the relevant site.

We may set you a short, practical task or arrange a ‘Meet the Team’ session. We will, of course, discuss this with you beforehand. 

If you are applying for a management role or a particularly high-profile sales position, we will then invite you to an individual assessment (AC). Through practical tasks based on the day-to-day work involved in the role, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate how you approach challenges. We’ll let you know exactly what to expect in advance. 

If we are both satisfied and it suits both parties, you will usually receive our contract offer digitally within a few days.

You then return the signed original contract to us by post.

We want to make your start as easy as possible and ensure that you settle into your role and the team quickly.

On ‘New Joiner Day’, you’ll receive your access card, hardware and all the essential access details you need for a successful start.

If required, we’ll provide a personalised induction plan to help you grow into your new role step by step. 

You’ll usually be assigned a HelaBuddy (mentor) who will support you and be on hand to help with day-to-day work. On ‘Discovery Day’, you’ll get to know more of your new colleagues and discover our culture and working environment.

You’ll also be able to network right from the start through a variety of internal networks, communities and initiatives that promote professional and personal exchange.
