Helaba's Supervisory Board has appointed Dr Ingo Wiedemeier (54) as a member of the Group's Executive Board. The decision is subject to approval by the relevant German and European banking regulators. Dr Wiedemeier, who is currently Chairman of the Management Board of Frankfurter Sparkasse, is joining Helaba as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with effect from 1 April 2026.
Dr Wiedemeier has been at the helm of the Helaba Group subsidiary Frankfurter Sparkasse as Chairman of the Management Board since 2020. A graduate in business administration, he previously held the same position at Sparkasse Hanau. A decision regarding his successor at Frankfurter Sparkasse will be decided in due course.
“With Ingo Wiedemeier, we have been able to secure the appointment of a distinguished expert from within the ranks of Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe and Helaba, who brings with him extensive financial expertise and in-depth experience specific to our network. This makes him an ideal choice for the position of Chief Financial Officer of the Bank”, explains Stefan G. Reuß, the Chairman of Helaba's Supervisory Board.
Helaba's CEO, Thomas Groß, adds: "I look forward to continuing the close collaboration with Ingo Wiedemeier in his new capacity. Together with our colleagues in the Executive Board, we will forge ahead with the successful course we have charted for Helaba."
