Sabine König (47) has been appointed as a new member of the Management Board of LBS Hessen-Thüringen, effective from 1 April 2021. As a member of the Management Board, König will be responsible for LBS Market Service and LBS Credit Service. She will be following in the footsteps of Werner Hoffmann, who is entering a well-earned retirement on 30 December 2020 after 12 years on the LBS Management Board.
Having completed an apprenticeship as a bank clerk at Stadtsparkasse Mönchengladbach and a degree in economics, König worked at LBS Schleswig-Holstein-Hamburg from 2003 to 2017, where her last positions were Head of Corporate and Organisational Development as well as Digitisation Project Manager for the LBS Group. In 2017, she switched to the management consultancy sector by joining the Scandinavian/German firm Arkwright Consulting AG. There, she was able to expand her range of experience in the financial services industry by working on projects with insurance companies and payment service providers. Most recently, König worked at zeb.rolfes.schierenbeck.associates gmbh as a Senior Manager and sector specialist for building and loan associations (Bausparkassen). In addition to projects in the IT environment, she has also been involved in forward-looking issues for the industry, such as sustainability and data analytics.
"We are extremely grateful to Werner Hoffmann for his many years of commitment on the Management Board of LBS. During his tenure, he has made a significant contribution to developing LBS into one of the most effi-cient German building and loan associations.“
