Export­ finan­ce for Mel­hora­men­tos Flo­res­tal

Helaba arranges a facility for Melhora­mentos Florestal Ltda, a medium-sized producer of pulp for the production of cardboard boxes and tissue paper in Brazil. The company is using the long-term loan to achieve a modern bleaching plant enhancing production as well as sustainabilty.

Helaba has structured long-term financing for Melhoramentos Florestal, a 128-year-old Brazilian company specializing in the production of high yield fibers - a raw material for the manufacture of tissue, specialty paper and board.

The line of credit enabled the purchase of state-of-the-art machinery from the renowned Austrian technology group ANDRITZ, which will increase the plant's production capacity to 90,000 tonnes per year. This makes it possible to improve the bleaching system and the quality of its fibers.

For Helaba, this transaction marks an important milestone in the expansion of business in Brazil.
