Helaba supports Green Finance Cluster Frankfurt

Helaba Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen is actively lending its support to the newly launched Green Finance Clusters Frankfurt as a sponsor.

The future aim of the cluster is to bundle initiatives to promote a sustainable financial economy and, in addition, to conduct work on fundamental issues.

For Helaba, the sustainable use of natural resources and responsibility for the environment have a high priority. An obligation to focus the bank’s business activities towards sustainability and a clear commitment to protecting the climate are important components of its strategy. “For this reason, we believe it is right and important to support the Green Finance Cluster. It brings the various initiatives in the financial centre together and strengthens the value of sustainability in our sector”, says Herbert Hans Grüntker, the Chairman of Helaba’s Board of Managing Directors.

The cluster, which was created on the initiative of the Hessian Ministry for Economics, Energy, Transport and Regional Development, is a project of the integrated Hessian Climate Plan 2025. The founding members include the Ministry of Economics; Wirtschafts- und Infrastrukturbank Hessen (WIBank), which is part of the Helaba Group; the KfW Group; the Center for Financial Studies, which is located at Frankfurt’s Goethe University; the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management; the Association for Environmental Management in Banks and the start-up centre TechQuartier. In the scope of its sponsoring, Helaba will act as a financial supporter in addition to other organisations in the financial centre of Frankfurt. The cluster is based at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
