In order to protect the climate and conserve resources, we have introduced sustainability principles for our business trips. For example, as a rule we prioritise the use of public transport for business travel, if the latter cannot be avoided altogether by using video and telephone conferences.
We also want to reduce the emissions of our company car fleet. In line with our policy on the use of company cars, Helaba’s employees are expected to prioritise the use of fuel-efficient and low-emission vehicles. High performance vehicle models are not available. In addition, we have also introduced maximum limits on CO2 emissions.
More than 60 percent of Frankfurter Sparkasse’s employees utilise public transport for their daily commute and for business trips. In order to make private transport in the city centre of Frankfurt more environmentally friendly, the Sparkasse subsidis-es three velotaxis. Furthermore, at three charging station on the car park in front of the Sparkasse’s head office – two each for cars and two-wheelers – customers can charge their electric vehicles free of charge with electricity from renewable sources.
