# Juilf-Helmer Eckhard appointed as head of internal audit

**After starting his career at the accountancy firm PWC, he assumed management roles in the audit departments of BHF-Bank, Bankgesellschaft Berlin and Aareal Bank.**

Before joining Frankfurter Sparkasse, he had been responsible for group audit at WestLB for ten years. He has been a member of the board of the German Institute of Internal Auditing (DIIR) since 2001. Eckhard succeeds Peter Leimert, who has been the General Manager of the newly-established “Organisation” unit since 1 January 2018.
